Secure Hoarding & Compound Installation

Wildside Limited delivered compound construction and hoarding fencing as part of early enabling works at Grendon & Springfield Prisons. Working within a live custodial environment, the project required strict security, safety compliance, and coordinated operations.

The works established a fully secure compound with controlled access, supporting site logistics, storage, and workforce welfare.

Wildside delivered a turnkey package including:

• Installation of hoarding fencing to designated perimeter zones
• Construction and installation of vehicular and pedestrian access gates
• Formation of a secure compound area, including:
    ○ Environmental mitigation controls including GCN and Tree protection
    ○ Site clearance and preparation
    ○ Installation of hardstanding / working platform
    ○ Defined storage and laydown areas
• Integration with existing prison infrastructure and access routes
• Traffic and access management provisions within a restricted environment

1. Live Prison Environment
Working within an operational prison required:
• Escorting procedures and controlled movement of operatives
• Strict compliance with HMPPS security requirements
• Daily coordination with prison staff and Laing O’Rourke teams

2. Security-Critical Infrastructure
• All fencing and gates required robust installation standards to prevent unauthorised
access
• Interfaces with existing secure boundaries had to be seamless and tamper-resistant
